The Brendon Arms, Bude’s best known Inn, has been owned and run by the Brendon family since 1872. Overlooking Bude’s inner harbour and just 200 yards from the unique sea-lock and Summerleaze beach, it occupies a prime position and proudly boasts that it provides “The Warmest Welcome in the West”.
The Brendon Arms is a Free House and stocks a range of real ales from the West Country and national brewers renowned for their excellence and accredited by the Cask Marque sign of quality. Genial Managers Geoff and Pam lead a youthful, enthusiastic team whose aim is to provide friendly and efficient service to locals and visitors alike, who enjoy our bars, which are cosy in winter and air-conditioned in summer.
Head chef Jamie and his hard-working brigade serve an excellent range of traditional pub food with a daily special menu including locally caught seafood and quality meat from local farmers.
Our wines are food friendly and all are available by the bottle or the glass, including champagne.
Our garden is spacious and people enjoy eating and drinking on the lawn with a view of the water.
In the Public Bar you can play darts, pool and poker or watch Sky Sports, which is also available on our muted outdoor TV, so no-one misses the match.
All our en-suite accommodation is rated 3-star by the English Tourist Board and it’s equipped with everything from TV to hair dryers and tea and coffee making facilities.
Upstairs in the Inn there are nine comfortable bedrooms. And across the road, next to our car park, there are four self-catering water-side apartments in the converted Old Lifeboat House and a luxury harbour side cottage on Breakwater Road.
